On PC devices, you could only purchase one version of the game at a time. Minecraft’s original version, Java, was exclusive to PC, while Bedrock was a slightly different version that was playable on consoles as well as PC. Now, as of June 7, 2022, the editions will be merged. Mojang’s masterpiece first arrived on PC in 2011, with the Bedrock edition of the game coming later in 2017.
